Section 34
Community Reconciliation

(1) There shall be the necessary number of conciliators to facilitate the settlement of disputes through community-based conciliation.
(2) The conciliator referred to in sub-section (1) shall assist the parties in resolving the dispute.
(3) When providing assistance in accordance with sub-section (2), the parties to the dispute shall be encouraged to reach agreement among themselves, to settle the dispute so that it is acceptable to each other, and not to consider the settlement of the dispute through community-based reconciliation as a loss.
(4) Non-governmental organizations operating at the local level may provide necessary technical and other assistance in assisting community-based mediators to resolve disputes.
(5) For the purpose of resolving disputes through community-based reconciliation, the meeting of the members of the concerned community may decide the necessary procedure.
(6) When resolving disputes through community-based mediation, the results resolved through mediation can be recorded in writing at the local level.
(7) Other provisions related to settlement of disputes through community-based conciliation shall be as prescribed.
